Mission
The Karate Club of University of California, Riverside's mission is fourfold:
First: To enhance the camaraderie and reinforce the lessons of karate-do among karateka on the UCR campus
Second: To establish and maintain an organization for promoting sport karate and competition for its members
Third: To represent UCR with excellence and integrity in regional, national, and international venues
Fourth: To strengthen the ties between karate competition and scholarly achievement by offering, when possible, scholarships to selected club members.

Club Membership
Club membership is opened to all students, staff, or faculty of UCR. Members are encouraged to be actively training or involved in the instructional/administrative support of karate on the UCR campus. Active members are encouraged to enroll in the karate classes offered by the Rec Center, test on a regular basis, and take part in scheduled club activities as appropriate to their rank.

Structure and Governance
The Karate Club is governed by an Executive Council, whose duties are to formulate Club agendas, oversee Club monies, and when necessary, make discretionary decisions concerning club welfare.

Composition of Executive Council
a. The council will be composed of eight members: three elected from club membership; two appointed by the senior instructor, two faculty advisors, and the senior club instructor.
b. All senior students (3rd kyu and above) will be ex officio members of the executive council.
c. Officers: The executive council will be composed of: President, Secretary/Webmaster, Treasurer, Publicist, and Fundraising. These officers will also act as the executive officers of the general club membership and, when needed, serve as committee heads for club business.
d. Executive council officers must be enrolled in current karate classes at UCR, and below 3rd kyu must test at least 3 times over a six quarter period, unless excused by the senior instructor.
